Why you shouldn’t remove curses on your own
When a curse is spoken, its effects are not carried out directly by the person themselves, but through energies of the spiritual world. These energies can, through manipulation or the right motivation, influence our lives as a curse. A curse is lifted by removing the connection to such an entity. Without the help of a shaman, this spiritual influence is extremely difficult to remove.
Under no circumstances should you try to send a curse back, because this can intensify the symptoms and create further negative karma.
However, you can effectively protect yourself from a curse’s effects or reduce its impact through appropriate rituals. You can download a planetary ritual and an ancestor ritual which I provide free of charge. Still, I ask you to read the text first to better understand the overall context, because that plays an important role in the healing process.
Planetary influences or the connection to our ancestors can cause symptoms similar to those of a spoken curse. From my practical experience, I can say that spoken curses are rather rare and that what’s happening is more often related to influences from planets or ancestors. For that, I can give you rituals you can perform independently.
Understanding different sources of curses and symptoms
Curses from dark shamans
Experienced dark shamans can deliberately send curses. These are usually the strongest and most persistent, because they were created with full knowledge and intention. They negotiate a deal with a negative spiritual energy, which makes the effect even stronger. The karma accumulated by a person who performs such curses is devastating. Such curses should only be removed by a shaman.
Curses from ordinary people
Ordinary people can also speak curses—usually in moments of intense anger, jealousy, or despair. Whether these curses actually take effect does not depend on the person themselves, but on whether an energy picks up the curse and carries it out. With inexperienced people this usually happens by chance and is rather rare. Even this type of curse should only be removed by a shaman.
Karmic and planetary influences

Sometimes what looks like a curse is actually a karmic test or a planetary influence. Saturn’s influence, for example, can cause things to fall apart over several years, create financial blockages, or lead professional plans to fail. We can reduce these influences, for example, through a planetary ritual.
Influence of ancestors
All of these symptoms can also come from our ancestors of past times, this is the karma of the family and bloodline. Emotional disturbances or negative experiences can be passed on to the next generations. This can also be reflected in genetic predispositions to certain illnesses. It’s important to note that ancestors do not pass on these symptoms intentionally, but their energetic state can influence the bloodline.
Learning to distinguish curses from karmic turbulence
One of the most important insights from my shamanic practice is the ability to distinguish between real curses and karmic turbulence. This differentiation is crucial for the right approach. We cannot prevent karma, but a curse is completely unnecessary and should be removed.
Signs of a curse
Real curses usually manifest very suddenly. From one day to the next, life can change dramatically. It’s important to understand that the influence of a curse can affect our environment, the physical body, the energy body, and the mind. Many symptoms of a curse can also be purely mental.
- People attack us and enemies appear everywhere. Relationships and careers can become completely dysfunctional in a short time. Nightmares and energetic “drain” can occur. The will to live decreases.
- Rapid change within a short time is another sign of a possible curse, combined with a high aggressiveness of the energy.
- Severe pain, often in the head or back, when leaving or entering certain places, which then subsides quickly. Unusual movement of energy in the body combined with physical discomfort. Energetic attacks and visions can also occur.
Karmic turbulence

Karmic challenges usually develop more slowly, but they can have similar effects on our lives. The biggest difference is the greater time delay of karmic processes, while a curse takes effect more quickly.
- Problems build over months or years. There is a gradual buildup of influence in which symptoms slowly intensify. A curse, in contrast, tends to appear abruptly. Another hint: shortly before a karmic phase ends, it often becomes intense once again.
- Recurring patterns and themes in our mind, in relationships, and in everyday events. Often karma affects us and we affect our karma. If we can see our own behavior involved during these phases, we may be able to dissolve a karmic phase by changing our self-perception or behavior. With a curse, simply changing behavior does not play a role.
Similarities between karma and curses
A person with few karmic turbulences may experience less development in life, while others with difficult karma grow through their challenges. A phase of being cursed can also foster growth. If we manage to emerge stronger from a curse and weaken its effects through our own strength, it can lead to personal development.
Complete self-liberation through one’s own power is rare and extremely difficult. Most people need shamanic support to fully dissolve a curse. Therefore, focusing on protection and weakening the effects is the wiser choice if we want to intervene on our own.
Techniques and rituals you can do yourself
In many cultures there are countless measures against curses, hexes, or possessions. It becomes a ritual when we perform a certain sequence of actions to achieve a result. More complex rituals should be performed with a specialist so that the curse is not intensified.
An action becomes a ritual when we repeat it in the same way again and again. Only then does an energetic vibration arise. It is therefore advisable to practice these techniques over a longer period in the same way, so they can truly become a ritual.
Planetary ritual

This ritual usually eases our karma, both in what happens to us and in what unfolds in our mind. It can be used when we feel especially challenged. People who suffer from chronic illness, weakness, are recovering from an injury or serious illness, are going through depression, or another psychological imbalance, etc., can use it more regularly, for example, with each lunar cycle.
The time around the full moon is ideal, the time around the new moon is the least suitable. Even if we can phrase a request for concrete help, such a ritual is not a deal. Our suffering has meaning; easing it mainly means avoiding getting so stuck that positive action becomes impossible. We may ask freely but we cannot expect anything from this ritual.

Ancestor ritual

The goal of this ritual is to strengthen and improve the relationship with the ancestors so that they can help us master our lives, maintain a good relationship with our living family members, and fulfill our wishes.
The essence of a general ancestor ritual is an expression of love for the ancestors. If this essence is absent, the ritual is useless. To generate the feeling of love, keep your attention in the heart center—especially when you give something during the ritual.
Ancestor rituals are best performed at sunrise and no later than 2 hours after sunrise. They can also be performed at sunset, but sunrise is better. The best days of the week for ancestor rituals are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The morning of the new moon can be described as the best day. We should not perform the ritual at the full moon.

Protection through the elements

The elements are crucial helpers in healing processes, and they are available to all of us. All energetic effects on our lives occur through the elements. When we integrate the elements into our life, this in turn has a feedback effect on our energy body and the soul.
- Fire element: Fire rituals are generally very good for cleansing our layers. Fire also appears in our mind as willpower, and in our body as digestion.
- Water element: Water can immediately change our energy externally and remove lightly attached energies. Letting water run over the body can help us change our energetic and emotional states.
- Air element: Our breathing is decisive for our emotional state. When we direct our concentration to the breath, we can calm the nervous system.
- Earth element: The earth is not only our mother. Physical contact with the earth calms the nervous system and brings balance to the mind.
Incense and energetic cleansing
Smell, sound, and movement are important techniques for energetically cleansing ourselves. Incense sticks are often used to cleanse rooms, because scent is an element that has a strong connection to the spiritual world. Negative energies cannot remain for long in places where a pleasant smell prevails.

Can you lift a curse yourself (break a curse) or do you need a shaman?
To “lift” a curse means dissolving the connection to a negative spiritual energy/entity. Without shamanic support this is usually very difficult, which is why the focus when doing it yourself is more on protection and weakening the effects. Important: do not try to “send the curse back,” as this can intensify symptoms and strengthen negative karma.
Am I cursed? What signs indicate a curse and how do I distinguish it from karma?
Typical signs of a curse are sudden, drastic changes (from one day to the next), e.g. hostility/attacks from others, escalating conflicts in relationships or at work, nightmares, energetic drain, reduced will to live, sometimes severe pain (e.g. head/back), or unusual “movement of energy” in the body. Karmic/planetary processes, on the other hand, tend to develop slowly over months or years, show recurring patterns, and can sometimes be influenced through changes in behavior or self-perception.
Which ritual helps against a curse? What can I do directly myself (full moon/new moon, incense, elements)?
Planetary ritual: for easing/relief (especially in challenging periods); ideal around the full moon, least suitable around the new moon.
Ancestor ritual: best at sunrise; good weekdays: Mon/Thu/Sat; new-moon morning is especially suitable; do not perform at the full moon.
Protection through the elements: fire (cleansing/transformation), water (washing away energy/emotion), air (breathing calms the nervous system), earth (grounding/balance).
Incense / energetic cleansing: scent, sound, and movement for clarity in space and energy.
